MARTIN LUTHER KING UNITY DAY

Each year we are excited to host our annual MLK Day of service and unity. This event is dedicated to honoring Dr. King and his legacy of service and sacrifice to bring people together across cultural, ethnic and socio-economic lines.

 

We do this by coordinating a neighborhood clean-up in the OST/South Union community in the third ward followed by a time of memoriam for Dr. King. We then present our annual MLK Service Award to a long-standing member of our community who has represented the values of Dr. King in our neighborhood. Finally, we will share in a community meal together as participants are encouraged to enjoy one another in fellowship and conversation.
